SERVICE - MA District 2

About Service
Service is an opportunity for the recovering addict to take steps towards commitment, as well supporting both the 12th step and the primary purpose of MA: Staying free of marijuana, and helping the addict who still suffers achieve the same freedom. Without Service, there would be no MA.

MA's Service Structure has many opportunities to be of Service at Meetings, on the District Service Committee, and for the MA World Service. Ask at any meeting, and you're sure to hear some interesting stories and points of view on the value of Service.

For a description of service positions in
MA, you can take a look at the MA Service Manual.
MAWS Effectiveness Survey
MA World Service (MAWS) is conducting an “Effectiveness Survey” ("MES") across all districts, meetings and members, to evaluate what the society of MA thinks about MAWS' effectiveness to date. MAWS seeks to collect an MA-wide group conscience about what type of work MAWS needs to be engaged in, and to help evaluate MAWS performance.
Each month we would like answers to the monthly survey
questions
from you, your meeting, and/or your district:

You can discuss find the current 'MES' question on the MA Forum, and send your ideas and thoughts via email at mes@marijuana-anonymous.org.

    Service Opportunities
    • Our district needs your help on Events : This is a great service opportunity - planning and coordinating MA events with the Fun Team Chairperson. Ask your GSR for more information.
    •  Our district needs H&I Speakers:  MA hosts panels at Hospitals and Institutions (H&I) to carry the message of recovery to places that don't have MA meetings.  Speakers should have 90 days clean & sober.  Contact the H&I Chairperson through your GSR.
    • Meetings need service: Meetings have many service opportunities - Literature, Group Service Representative (GSR), Birthday Chip Person, Treasurer, Phone List Person, Setup, Cleanup, and Secretary for a meeting is a great way to explore service.
